Day 01   –  BKK/CCU/DEL/KTM  –   PBH

The flight to Bhutan gives you the enchanting views of great Himalayas and slowly descends to Paro valley with sights of typical buildings and farmland. After the Immigration & custom formalities you will be transferred to hotel. If time permit, visit the places of interests or walk around the paro town. Overnight hotel.

Day 02   –  PARO    –   SIGHTSEEING

Whole day hiking excursion to Taktsang Gompa (tiger nest monastery) situated on the cliff of a rock 3000ft above the paro valley. The site is considered very holy where an Indian saint Guru Rimpoche meditated for 3 months followed by many other great Lamas. It is holy and the pilgrimage site for the Buddhists and adventurous and exiting spot for the visitors. After noon visit interested site in Paro. Overnight hotel.

Day 03   –  PARO   –   SHANA   –   THANGTHANKA

To-day start early with drive to Shana for an hour where the trek start with gradual ascent through the forests following the river and every now and then crossing streams with ups and down trials slowing gaining to the altitude to Thangthanka campsite Alt. 3680 M. on the small flat field surrounded by high altitude vegetation. Overnight tented camp.

Day 04   –  THANGTHANKA   –  JANGOTHANG

Begin the walk always with gradual ascent through forests of conifer and rhododendron vegetation by pass the army camp and yak pasture following the stream slowly entering into the yak herder’s village and suddenly coming out into open slowly viewing the Snow Mountains and reach Jangothang base camp of Mt. Jumolhari Alt. 7200 M. The hike is 6 – 7 hours and the campsite Alt. 4110 M., Overnight in tented camp.

Day 05   –  JANGOTHANG  –  HALT

Days halt in the base camp of the Mount Jumolhari to acclimatize the altitude. One can either take a rest or explore around the base camp by making excursion to Tsophu lake or climb the mountain near the Jumohari to experience the glacier of surrounding mounts. Ovrnight in tented camp.

Day 06   –  JANGOTHANG   –  LINGSHI

The trial on level for few minutes and start the climb on the slope of mountain with winding path and hike along the valley on gradual ascend for an hour to start the climb on rocky and gravel path to Nyeli-la pass Alt. 4725m. On this hike you may be lucky to see snow leopard but definitely you will come across the herd of wild blue sheep and from the top of the pass you feel that you are near to the top of Mt. Tsirimgang Alt. 6990m. From the pass it’s all the way down on open space and slowly nearing Lingshi views the Lingshi Dzong. Lingshi campsite Alt. 4145m., and the walk is 6/7 hours and overnight tented camp.

Day 07   –  LINGSHI   –  SHODU

To-day will be bit harder walk for longer distance with the climb to cross the highest pass on trek Yali-la pass Alt. 4990M.. The trial at first through the deep valley with gradual ascend following a stream for 2 hours and begin the steep climb on the rocky trial for another 2-3 hours to cross the Yali-la pass and all the way down to shodu for 4 hours. The hike is 7-8 hours and overnight in tented camp at Altitude 3890M.

Day 08   –  SHODU  –   SHOMTHANG

The trial is with gradual ascend following the stream for few hours then crossing the stream begin the climb gradually to Ladhi-la pass 4988 M.,  and all the way down till Shomthang the campsite Alt. 4010 M. The hike is on the barren pasture of the yaks and through rocky trial to cross the pass then after all the way down hill with views of surrounding mountains. Hike is 6 – 7 hours. Overnihgt tented camp.

Day 09   –  SHOMTHANG   –  YUETSO

The trial is gradually descending, crossing few streams and slowly nearing the base of Yuetso-la pass with 4 hours hike and than ascend till the half portion of the Yuetso-la pass approximately for 2 hour to Yuetso camp site Alt. 3895 M. surrounded by lakes. Overnight tented camp.

Day 10   –  YUETSO   – LABANA

The trial is with gradual ascend to cross the Yeutso-la pass Alt. 4150m., and descend for few minutes to meet the gradual climb  to cross the Dungtso-la pass Alt. 4280 M. From here descend gradually to pass by the Dungtso lake and on the level for few minutes and slowly losing the altitude to Labana campsite Alt. 3510 m. The hike is 5-6 hours and overnight tented camp.

Day 11   –  LABANA    –    THIMPHU

The trial is with gradual ascend and on the level with ups and down till you reach the Drupchu-la pass with chorten Alt. 3680 M. above the Phajoding monastries where you could enjoy the views of Himalayas on the clear day and as well the views of Thimphu valley and the monastery below that you will pass by. From here it’s all the way down hill till the motor road where the transport will transfer you to Thimphu city. The hike is 5-6 hours and overnight Hotel.

Day 12   –  THIMPHU   –  SIGHTSEEING

Morning visit  National Library, Arts and Craft School, Folk Heritage Museum, National Herbal Institute and Hospital, Handicraft Emporium, Memorial Chorten of the 3rd King of Bhutan, Zelukha Nunnery, Changangkha monastery of 13th century, Tashichho-dzong the main secretariat building, small zoo of Takin the national animal of Bhutan. and walk around the city. Overnight Hotel

Day 13   –  THIMPHU  –    PARO/DELHI

To-day, journey back home and you will be transferred to Paro Air-port for the flight to BKK/DEL/CCU/DAC/KTM. The drive from Thimphu to Paro is an hour and reporting time for the flight is two hours before the departure time. Your guide and driver will see you to the airport and bid farewell.
